Actually, Vipers handle extremely well. The SCCA does not provide a stock
class for the Viper because it is an overdog in stock - it goes straight to
ASP. They are huge, which does not help in autocross land, but they have a
lot of tire/engine, which makes up for it. The last time a Viper was out
locally, it was a father/son team, the course was FAST, which undoubtely
helped, and the son was turning times close to mine at his first event - I
started watching - he was awful in the corners, drove like the typical "my
names Mario" kid, but once he got the car pointed in a straight line, look
out - the car was unbelievable. If he had cleaned up the corners, he could
have taken another 3 seconds off. This was all on the stock tires. The
car was FAST. A local driver (good one) drove the car, got to within 2.5
seconds of a CP Mustang - 500hp, 2300 pounds, huge slicks, etc. Yeah.
Vipers are fully capable autocross cars.
Mannix(bit too "look at me" for me, though)
