I tried a setup like this on my 85 8V, just with the US version of the
stuff, which is the same except for stud size I believe. Anyhow, the Euro
manifold will work fine, and the downpipe will connect to it, but the
problem is that the downpipe on these car are a few inches shorter and I
think offset to one side just a little bit compared to the ones on
Sciroccos. This means you have to use some sort of flex coupling, which I
had really bad luck with. I broke three flex couplings in less than 6
months. I bought a TT downpipe, and that matched up to the system perfectly
without resorting to a flex coupling, and had an O2 sensor mount in it for
$5 extra. This lasted fine and was in good shape even when I sold the car,
which was 2 or 3 years later. Well worth its cost. This combo is really a
great mod, giving better hp, and the few times I kept my foot out of it,
better mpg too.
