VR6 Conversions - attn: Chris!

Hey everyone, 
Does anyone know about VR6 Conversions for the scirocco? I remember 
Chris saying that EIP (grrr) Said that they could do it no porb. There 
are several mid/low mi (60k and under) VR6's around here that are being 
sold for about $1200 and under. I was thinking about attempting a 
rebuild and conversion? 
Of course thses are >JUST< thoughts!
No flames about impossibleness/price/etc please!

Let me know how wack this idea is....
