I agree and disagree with this statement (from own personal experience).
First, there is no doubt that Snap-On makes better tools than Craftsman.
Second, I have found Craftsman tools to be very reliable. I have been
using Craftsman for about nine years now and have maybe had five pieces
either break or strip (this was a phillips head). I have only been
using them on my car on a regular basis for about five years. Before
this I was a professional bicycle mechanic and even though I preferred
Snap-On (more precise and just "felt" better), I have had no real
problem with Craftsman. If one is on a budget, they are definately the
way to go. Also, if a tool breaks, practically every town has a Sears.
Even if I had plenty of cash to spend on tools, I would still use
Craftsman; for the money I spend on tools, I definately feel that they
are more than worth it. IMHO.
