Hotter plugs?

Dear fellow Roccans:

I just got back from a long drive to Lake Minnewaska in upstate NY. I put
new Bosch Platinums in before the drive. The recommended plug for my JH
engine was the WR7DP.

The new plugs that I decided to try were WR8DP. I did this to evaluate the
difference of a hotter plug. Has anyone tried this? What are your opinions
on this topic?
