Right. Josh pretty much covered it so theres not much I can add to it but
this. There was a decent thread a while ago about priming the M/C before
you install it. I was one who said it SHOULD be done before installing. We
ll, far be it for me to go back on something I say but this time, I will
fully retract my prvious statements on that topic. A few months ago I
installed a new M/C without doing that step (ya-ya, I forgot, ok!) and you
wanna know what, it didnt make any difference at all.
Something else that I have discussed before is the little cheap "one man
brake bleeder tool". its in most any car parts store. Its basically a
clear plastic tube with a check ball in one end and a little rubber tube
to fit over the nipple on the front brake calipar or rear cylinder, ect.
Im telling you, if you have to do it once alone, this is the only way to
do it! You can see exactly whats comming out of the system and also all of
the air that may be in the system. Its great!
Lastly, since your gonna basically be changing your fluid (Its a great
time to do it since you really dont know how old the fluid is in your
car.) It would be a good idea to upgrade to a DOT 4 fluid. (CASTROL GTLMA
works great!)
OK, im all out of superb ideas!
HTH!
