For the last couple days I've had to drive an 84 GTI due to the fact 
that I blew a headgasket on my Scirocco.  This happened while 
installing a new throttle body from an Audi 5000.  I couldn't get the 
body to work at first because of the configuration of the throttle 
pull arm (the thing the throttle cable is attached to).  While playing 
around trying to get a setup that worked, my roommate was holding the 
cable while I pushed the gas, well my roommie also pulled on the cable 
causing the car to redline and then some, well...blew the headgasket. 
 Anyway, after this terror, I finally figured out how to make the 
T-body to work, I just replaced the throttle pull arm from my old 
t-body to the new audi and it worked great.  I had the head gasket 
replaced and now have my scirocco back.  I really like the extra hp, 
but...I still wish I had that 1.8L JH engine from the GTI.  Anybody 
have one with less than a 100K on it (and in good shape)?
