Ignition switch nightmare!
My roomate bought my (from another party I had sold it to a while back)
84 wolfsburg. Just recently he couldn't start the car. Well the
key clicks into ON, but there is no power there. The on location seems
to have moved to just BEFORE on. What this ends up doing, is that after
trying to start, the key returns to a dead-power state, ie. it no run!
We drilled out (quite simple btw) the lock thinking something was wrong,
and swapped in a good one. No help. Same problem :(
Any ideas? I do have access to another entire steering column, but
I REALLY would like to think that this is something simple...
