Did you drill out all 3 rivits?? 
Did you use the right sized bit? 
Once you have drilled them out, the old ball joints should fall off. 

If you've drilled and the rivit has started to spin, then use a chissel 
and cut off the rivit heads. You can always try and hammer the rivits 
tighter so they dont spin.
