Transmision Wowes. part II
Thanks everyone that wrote me to tell me it took a 17mm allan wrench to
check the fluid in my tranny.
I am assuming my car ('87 16v) is like most small displacement, front
wheel drive cars, the tranny holds a max of 3 quarts of fluid. (probably
less) I am amazed that my transmision didnt lock up months ago. I added a
FULL QUART of fluid and it still DIDN'T bring it up to full. I will have
to go buy more tomorrow to top it off. Now the car seemes to shift better,
run cooler and is not as noisy. With it being that low of fluid the only
thing I can think of is that the AMSOIL made the difference between
driveable and broken tranny. Maybe we should start to drink that stuff. hehe
But I still cant figure out where the oil is leaking from. I have
tightened every bolt I can get a wrench on and it still seemes to be
dripping. The next step is to clean off the bottom of the motor and see
where it first appears. Any suggestion on what seal could cause this? and
how much fluid does my tranny hold? Thanks!!
Sorry if it seemes that I know very little about these cars, but it is
true. The majority of my auto experience didnt even have pistons. (Mazda
Rotary engines).
