Methinks you'd have to do waaaay too much suspension and frame mods for
what it's worth, plus the fact that there's no way you could keep it looking
anything like stock.
If you want to go for the lots of power in a small vehicle, just do what
i'm doing. It requires less modifications, and almost bolts right in. Take
a Chevy S-10 and install a 350 in it. It's a lot less work. Th rear
transmission mount just needs to be moved and the motor mounts and mounting
brackets are only like $100 or so because the mounts are for the 4.3l V6,
which is the V8 - 2cyl. Same mounting points as the 350 block.
For small cars, if you want a decent RWD car with decent handling and
durability, get a BMW, a cheapie 318 isn't any more expensive to buy than
most VW's and get BMW 8 cyl to put in it.
