Yes........who knows what path the electricity is finding and what 
damage it could do.  It may or may not catch fire, but could easily 
damage things.  The smart thing to do is disconnect the battery as a 
safegaurd.

Don't forget to dry out the fusebox area as soon as possible.  A hair 
dryer ought to do nicely.
