Re[2]: VW; drying up?
YES!!! Thank you! That is exactly what they need to do. VW need's an
entry level car around $9000.00 (out-the-door) to take on the Neon's,
Civics, Fiesta's, Metro's, Hyundai's, etc......
If VW is listening ----Remember the original Beetle and Rabbit?
And Volk's as in ALL people's car, not mid-middle class people making
>$36,000 a year. Add the Polo to the American line-up.
The perfect VWoA in my opinion;
Polo
Beetle (Concept 1)
Golf GTI,TDI
Jetta GT,GLS,GLX,TDI
(drop the GL model's)
Passat (A4) 1.8T, TDI, GLX, Quattro
New Scirocco/Corrado (aka Audi A3)
EuroVan on a mini-van scale to complete w/Chrysler
A 4x4 sport utility or Truck of sorts.
-Pricing starting around $7000 for a base Polo, $10,000 Starting on the
new Beetle, 13~14k for GTI/Jetta's on Up.

If pricing structure is preventing VW from being competativ in the USA and
North America, the VW should add a lower priced model like the Seat
derrived POLO...The Polo is about the size of a Rabbit and given the 2.0L
motor would be a good performer too.
Getting young people in the show room and selling the an excellent product
could bring some brand loyalty or at least some market share...
