a scirocco is not a Mercedes. if you want a quiet-refined cruiser for
the highway, forget it! go for that close-ratio tranny and install the
5th (.75) gear from your car. the lower ratio on the lower 4 gears will
do wonders for performance.
regardless, $400 seems a little steep, though. I've picked up decent '84
GTi trannys for as little as $150.
