Well lets see.  Sold my old beater (still lightning fast) 84 wolfsburg
to my roomate (he couldn't drive stick, now hes in love with it)
Needed heater core, fan, etc... body was beat, engine bay is a mass
of corruption.  I had bought it for a song from a guy on the watercooled
newsgroup out of Chicago (16v fan) needed everything.  Got all new rear brakes
completely.  Tokiko lowering spring/tokiko HD shocks/struts, new uppers,
new poly rear uppers, new A-arms+bushings, etc...  Now car looks
nasty, gos like hell.

Bought all kinda' fun neato new toys for my 85 8v' rock.  Autocrossing
season is approaching out here in CENDIV land.  new wheels (13x7 revs!)
and rubber. Looking for a nice seat/harness combo now.  Looking at
a  coil-over solution with bolt-on camber plates to increase suspension
travel, and get rid of the crappy Neuspeed race springs. They suck.
I have Tokiko Illuminas with em'.  Okay, but travel sucked, and they
weren't heavy enough.  Looking around at solutions that work now.
Have a new upper bar to look for.  The Neuspeed upper that I had
kindof got bent.. (don't ask) maybe an Eibach? (looks meaty)
Lower bar was a 16v, but I have an extra Autotech Z-bar.
( I heard there used to be rules questions regarding this, but
as it didn't triangulate to the body, just itself, it was OK)
Hmmm... Removed the A/C from the car. GOOD idea, lost lots of
weight, cost $5 at a local yard for the rabbit pulleys I needed, and
$7.xx at the dealer for the new alternator bracket.   pulled the
front a/c condensor. Might try and pull the evaporator, but its kinda
inside almost...

Non-scirocco related, my younger brother is looking at buying his first
VW tomorrow.  A way-slammed (odd for our area) 85 GTI with a Foha body
kit, lowered, Zender rear wing, 15" Ronals, de-badged, Factory-repainted
Mars Red (YOW! looks DAMN nice)..

My good friend, and DSP rival Alan Stamper  (a recent Internet addict)
sold his 83 gti daily driver to his roomate to purchase a 16v rocco
for daily.  Alan is the future terror of CENDIV, having proven
a few times, if he can avoid the cones he can beat them all...
(and they said a scirocco-2 could never beat all the rabbits)
(Al's car is a LATE 84 rocco, mars-red)  Should be a hell of a season
here in the Ohio Valley Region (columbus OH) as we will go from 2/3 DSP
folks to about 5-7!!

WHEW!  what a virtual mouthful!
