Im not trying to sink your boat (or dreams) but you cant realsitically have a
daily driver with 180-200 hp. Well, lemm rephrase that. Anything is possible but
you got to keep in mind that our little 4 bangers are not made to handle that
kind of pounding in the realm of a daily driver and still have the kind of
longevity that most stock or mildly modified Scirocco's have. Your asking for the
world of high maintenance and almost cronic care. (Its kinda like deciding to
have a kid you know!) As long as you realise these little responsabilities and
accept them, your gonna love doing your project!

its alot of cash for a 0.1L bump. But hey, its your project and I say do whatever
your heart tells you to put in your rocket. If its a 2.2L you want, then by all
means, fork over the bank and do it right! If you really want to get closer to
the 180-200 hp range, mate up a turbo kit with the stroker motor. You can easily
have the 200+ hp your looking for. (Just a thought)

Every real VW performance mechanic I have spoken to about (I havent talked to the
schrine boys yet. Im refering to "Velocity" mainly) the cam sprocket say its not
worth it. I know several people who have them on their Street Mod Sciroccos and
they both said they felt no gain but one did say that on the dyno, ho got a
whopping 1hp gain! For the monney he spent, he was kinda pissed! So to each his
own. Im not trying to talk you out of getting one, just sharing what ive learned
in the world of gofast VW's!

Its something worth looking at. (My feeling also, not on my car!) There are
better safer kits that dont destroy the motors like they used to do. The reason
that motors were getting trashed was because they installed a 80 shot and went
out and drove the piss out of it with the stock bottom end with 100K+ miles on
it. You just cant do it that way and have a long lasting motor. Since your
building yourself a motor, you can safely add a 40 shot. The only problem is, you
will like it soo much you will want to upgrade to the 80, then the 120, then the
200........ its never ending....

Id say with such a motor ambition your gonna put in the car, go with a header.
Might as well.

If you get the TT system, you will get the sound your wanting. Its loud when your
on the throttle and quiet around town. Well, its not quiet, its just not as loud
when your on the gas. (I have a .WAV sound file of my car if your interested,
i'll send it to you.) I think Todd really loves the way my car sounds!! Right
Todd!! Well, maybe not. I doubt he even remembers my car.
>As for suspension I'm looking at doing 200lbs springs up front and 120lbs in

Here again, I'd say that your ambitious motor project definately needs the
suspension to handle it. Id advise that you think about some Koni adjustables and
some Neuspeed Race Springs. (Ya, its what I have.) I have the Boge Turbo's on my
86' GLi and at times, I think they're harsher than my Koni's! Hopefully you have
a full swaybar package and stress bars to match? (Unless your one of those
straight line guys ZZzzzz.)
If not the Koni's, then the Bilsteins will be good. The reason I say Koni's is
mainly since they're adjustable. Thats a really nice feature and when im hauling
all my race stuff (or BIG people) I can stiffen up the rear s
o the car rides great! its all about your preferences.

Which one is that???

Do you want performance or do you want looks? Changing the rear to disc wont do
much for you. You will also have to change your master cylinder and add a
different prop valve. ($$$$$)
Then again, since your already doing the whole brake system, why not add the
disks.

You better, you think I get paid to sit here and trpe? :-P
Hey, at least your DOING a project and not dreaming about it.......
I didnt hear anything about tranny mods or upgrades. I hope you plan on doing
this too. If anything, get an 020 tranny and get the Velocity 80% diff kit. I
just put one in my Scirocco (Gonna put one in my GLi soon, too!) and you will
need it to get ALL that power to the ground.
