There were changes in late 86 (i.e. the hold the highbeams on to
activate accesories like power windows).  Most 88's had the 2Y
transmission -vs- the AGB tranny, according to Potterman the
difference between the two related to the electrical connection for
revers lights/upshift etc......  As mentioned earlier replace the
switch with one from an 87 AGB or vice-a-versa 2Y.
