I don't know how much Rapid Parts wants for their Big Bore Kit, but
Techtonics has a good kit (complete gasket set, main and rod
bearings, 82.5mm Pistons - 8.5:1 thru 12:1 CR, 92.8mm OEM Forged
steel crank, and blueprint/instructions to boot) for $995. I was
considering buying the parts individually - i've been trying to find
out which car the 92.8mm crank was built for (seeing if i can get it
from the junk yard and rebuild it). The best price i've seen on the
82.5mm pistons made for the 92.8mm crank was $375 from
Volks-Motorsports. IMHO - The least expensive way that I've found
so far - I'm still looking - is to get the pistons from Volks-Motorsports,
the crank from TechTonics ($395) or from a junkyard, and the
bearings/gaskets from a local parts dealer. Questions,
comments...Rude remarks?
