Heh!! I thought it might be that. Lucky guess for me eh! Oh well, at
least its not an expensive fix. 
So, did you have the timming wonder on you?? I had that happen to me one
day where the bolt stripped out and as im driving I got slight less and
less power until I couldn't even keep up with freeway traffic at WOT! I
had to pull over and it wouldn't even run! Damdest thing ive ever seen.
The bolt fell out and the timming was AFU. I had to get it towed home
(about 2 miles.) Put in a longer bolt in and it was good to go.

It worked out because the tow truck driver had a bad alternator and
needed to switch the pulley so I used my compressor and swapped them for
him. He didn't charge me for the tow. That was my best experience with a
tow truck driver.
Anyways.... im glad you got it figured out.
