Hey, all!
I've contacted Todd regarding the '81 Rocco his friend has for sale,
and, depending on finances, would like to buy that puppy. BUT, I'll
have to sell the two I have now, so naturally I'll turn here first.
I have a '77 and a '78, both with 4-speed trannies; there's a
five-speed lying in my garage.
The '78 is really rough, even rougher now that I've used it as a
parts donor. Ir ran when I drove it home last year, but I've taken
the fuel distributor and some other parts off it to put on the '77.
The '77 is in really decent shape, but the body has been poorly
repaired. There's no front bumber as yet, but the Potterman is
sending me one. He's also sending a lens for the turn fornt signal
light.
This one isn't running very well. It starts, idles fast (about 3500
rpm) then dies. It *was* running for a while, but I haven't had the
time or money to devote to it. It oculd be a nice car, though, with
some TLC. New Michelin tires, original Scirocco wheels, (which I may
keep, depending on the '81), white, kinda rusty-sandy interior.
I also have four aluminum wheels, I forget what they're called, but
I've seen them on newer VWs like Golfs and so forth. They're factory
wheels, and are new. One of them got bunged up a bit during transit,
though.
I'd like to sell all this stuff, and buy the '81. Is anyone
interested? I live near Charleston, West Virginia in a town called
Oak Hill; I know that transporting the cars would be a problem. If
there's anything I can do along those lines, like renting a flatbed
and meeting you halfway, I'll do it if it's possible.
