I've heard this as well.  I've been pulled over many times for window tint but
always in states other than where my car was registered.  I got mad at one cop
that was being an arse and flat out dared him to give me a ticket because I
knew it wouldn't hold up.  He just threatened pull me over next time he saw
me.  What a dumbass.  ( I usually have major respect for all of them, but this
guy sucked )  Anywho,  I wouldn't worry about it but that doesn't mean I'll
pay for the ticket if you get one. :-)
