Since this seems to be a hot thread, I'll chime in...
I've installed power lock actuators in two Sciroccos (mine and a friends).
The "hardest" part is hooking it into the alarm, but that's not even too
bad, imho. I spent a little time tonight getting a some info online on how
I installed the actuators. All I really did was look at the picture in the
Bentley of how the factory actuators are installed, and do the same thing
using aftermarket two-wire type actuators.
The dealer part Jason mentioned is the plastic connector in the picture. I
got it when I broke the original one (fragile after 12 years). VW supplies
one piece now, when originally there were two pieces: one for cars with
power locks and one without. It makes installing the actuators much easier
having this factory piece ($2 or so each)
