Well I finally did it....broke down and dove into modifying my 
grille. Now I know the trick thing would have been to relocate the VW 
logo to the lower driver side or something but I din't want to spend 
all that time cutting, gluing, sanding, priming and 
painting..I have also read about a few people here removing every
other slat. This would have looked nice but I didn't want the 4-slat 
look, I want the new A3 3-bar look. So counting from the top I 
removed 2,3 5,6 ..which leaves the top slat, the center slat and the 
lower slat...plus the 2 little slats at the bottom. It looks BADASS!
There is a lot of space between the slats so u can see the radiator
if your up close but I pained the hood latch and core support both
flat black so they can't be seen. 

I also went to Hi-Lo and paid 4$ for a 1/2 oz bottle of brush on 
Tornado Red paint...Damn I want to find this stuff in a spray can.
But I removed by logo, painted it..wet sanded it, gave it another 
layer, wet sanded that to smooth out the brushstrokes, then hit it
with a clear coat. It's sweet!!! I'll have some pics up as soon as I
finish my roll of film.

Also I have ajustable konis...anyonw know which way I turn them
to get what result? I never got the caps with them..and actually 
never realized they were ajustable untill I just looked at the 
writing on the side of my front ones "AJUSTABLE" ..duh.
