Oil Temp...

What is the typical operating oil temp for just a standard 8v 84 Scirocco?

My temp usually hangs near 210-215, and has once on a 98F day gotten to
254.

>From what I've read a synth will reduce this temperature, yes?

Another thing I'm somewhat interested in is installing an oil pressure
gauge...has anyone attempted this before?
