Isn't the reverse light controlled by a relay?  Check your rear
blinkers, I bet one of them is out.  A blinker will go double speed if
the opposite one is not working (something to do with an incomplete
connection I guess)  Check all your fuses too. Maybe one of the wires to
the light switch isn't connected completely?  I've never heard of this
but something in the wiring is messed up.  good luck!
