You cant use the manifold off of the A2 Jetta. (Its too bad because its
the only reason the Jetta has 102hp VS the GTi's 100hp. its the
manifold!) The manifold is offset and there is not enough room to fit the
downpipe on the A1 chassis. (The shift linkage is in the way.) Try and
find one off of an older rabbit or even the Diesil manifold will work.
You will want to either modify the downpipe to use the ox sensor or buy a
downpipe from eurosport which has this mod performed. (This is the setup
I currently use. It must flow good or I wouldn't have 117hp to the
flywheel!) 
Or, you can drill and tap the manifold. Remember that the manifold is
probably gonna be hardened and hard to drill, much less tap!
