About 8 years ago (when I was 16 years old), I had an '80 that 
was an automatic.  I've never ever seen another automatic Mk1 
Scirocco.  It's amazing how much automatics kill the performance.  
That car was incredibly slow.  I'm glad I learned how to drive 
a stick!
