Its easy enough. To do it right, you will need to remove the entire bottom
end of the airbox assy. (thats easy, really) Then what you do is drill holes
into the plastic being carfull not to drill into the plastic reinforcement
areas or the box will collapse or something. I used a 1" wood hole bit. the
plastic is so soft that it drills quite easily. put as many holes in it as
you can fit.
I drilled everywhere but where it faces the engine. I wanted to avoid the
hot-hot air from the engine going right into the airbox.
The intake sound is kinda of a growley deep, argh-argh-argh sound. Some
Hondas have this sound after they add a K&N cone filter gives it this sound.
Before I did the TT exhaust mod, this was all I heard on the car was the
intake sound. After the TT exhaust was added, I dont hear it as much since
the exhaust is louder than the intake.
Performance gains are not even noticable but that doesnt mean it isnt
better. You got to remember also that the hot air from the engine is getting
in there too so it might even be hurting it some.
Since all the racers here have it done, I did it too. One way to find out
fer sure is to do it yourself. All I can do now is shrug my shoulders and
say, "eh".
