cams & timing

The ol' 'rocco is running a little rough lately (don't you just hate
carbs?) so I'm going to spend my off day tuning things up a bit. Anyway,
I was wondering if having a g-grind (or any other aftermarket) cam in my
engine will change the way the valve timing or the ignition timing will
need to be set.
