If you may or may not have noticed did you have a lot of understeer?
Having high pressure in front and low in back will do this (front
sticking to the ground more) Scirocco have a lot of understeer already
so I would reverse the pressures with 27 ft and 29-30 bk. That's just
about how I have my 13" wheels and 185/60 Yokes set up and the balance
is perfect. I never though a stock scirocco could handle so well!!
When I slide all four tires slide. It's nice to be able to hold a turn
without slamming into a curb like I did one cold night with my 16v.
(Here's a story:)
I was following a friend with all new suspension (anti-swaybars,
lowering springs, konis) and I had just gotten my new wheels and hadn't
checked the pressures yet (too excited!) The car had been sitting for 4
hrs in 50 degree weather so the tires were quite cold and doing 60mph
'round a ninety degree turn was not a good idea I knew but I had to keep
up with my friend of course! He made it, why couldn't I? As soon as I
hit it RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR accross the road and into a curb (very small
luckily)
I thought the wheel was bent and I probably woke up the neighborhood
after I jumped out of my car =) Now I have a nice 3" reminder on the
lip of my driver's side front wheel to get ready for certain driving
situations. Let this be a lessen...
