Radial engines leak oil like you wouldn't believe. There is a
saying in the aviation community about flying these things, "Check the gas
and fill up the oil" Given the increasingly strict regulations on
hydrocarbon emmissions for passenger cars, it would be unlikely that you
could ever use these. Now the Wankel Rotary engine, that's nice. BTW,
those emmission standards are based upon the "shed test" where the total
hydrocarbon emmissions of the vehicle are measured, gas, oil, plasticizer
from your dash, chemicals in your tires, etc. Nasty to keep under control.
