Yes, they can come off fairly easily.  They are held on, depending on the
which rear badge, by about 4 short plastic pins that push into plastic
grommets which are set into the metal of the car.  Now, when you are prying
them out be very careful because leveraging one area too much will snap the
badge.  Use nice even leveraging across the whole badge, and top to bottom,
and you shouldn't have any trouble.  Now, please don't blame me if your 
plastic pins are melted to the grommets and you snap your badges off. :-)!
