It is a problem IF the car has many miles on it, IF it leaks. The '85 GTi
motor in my '84 had 100K on it before install, and Mobil 1. I only had to
change the cam cover since, everything else is clean. I can only guess it
depends on several factors. I say this becuase I have heard of some that
complain that you can not use it on cars with more than 50k miles on it (how
they come to this figure, I'll never know).

This would be a *more* foolproof way to make sure that the oil is good, but
it seems over protective to me. 25K is always what I have heard, changing
the filter at normal intervals (*with new oil in the filter itself upon
reinstallation, without it you can lose pump prime and csue damage).
