In the UK, it's possible to buy an uprated wiring loom which will enable the 
fitting of higher power bulbs. In the B.R Motorsport brochure it's described as 
follows....

'It provides two advantages. Firstly it reduces the voltage drop at the lights, 
producing more light from the standard bulbs. Secondly because it contains 
40amp relays and 20amp cable, it enables higher wattage bulbs to be fitted 
without overloading the standard electrical system of the car.'

>From what I've read elsewhere, the loom is connected directly to the battery, 
and produces a substantial improvement, especially when combined with 100/80 
watt H4 headlamp bulbs and 100 watt H3 driving light bulbs.

The cost in the UK is approx 50 pounds plus tax.

It's certainly something I want to fit to my car, but first I've got to uprate 
the brakes......
