Clutch:throw out bearing/release plate
Hey guys heres a question for you, Many cars have come to me & my friends
lately with clutches that have all of the effective travel at the bottom of
the pedal, really low. You barely move it at all and you fully engage or
disengage the clutch plate. Now I've seen some rigs to fix it, quarters
shoved in behind the bearing, broken chunks of bearings piled up in there too.
Many time the bearing is flipped over but that only lasts for a bit. Now the
question is what's wrong, The shaft seems to be the right length. Is the
release plate in there bent, or weakened? One friend swapped his press. plate
clutch disk and flywheel from an old car to no avail, I'm not sure if he
switched his release plate or not, he's kinda weird and cheap at times. All
the cars have a manual adjusted cable, and no it has nothing to do with the
adjustment, it's always all the way out. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I'm working on another really soon, I dont want to waste someones money and
time on trying 10 times to get it right.
