I meant maybe the Boge's went bad because I used lowering springs on them. I
know lowering springs won't hurt the car!! Geesh... ;-)
<< Well, thats because it IS! Less weight transfer means more power to the
ground quicker. Geometry my dear Timmy.....>>
I thought so. Acceleration did feel slightly better.
<< What are you waiting for, the mechanic fairy to do the work?? Get in your
basement and get to work!
BTW, hows that Rabbit Diesil conversion project comming? >>
Well, I got the front strut assemblies out in about 45 min (had trouble with
one of the eccentric bolts) I took the assebleis with new Bilstiens and
strut bearings (thanks to Mark) over to a local VW shop called Bug Haus to
have everything swapped out. I only had an hour to get the atruts back
because I was using my Dads car to get to Bug Haus, and he needed to get to
tennis. Well, they ended up having a problem getting one of the strut
assembles apart, and I had to leave before they were done. So, I will have
to pick up the struts tomorrow, and while I'm out, stop by a local import
junk yard that is about 1/4 mile away to get a new eccentric bolt and nut.
Frustrating, but VERY worth it!!
Rabbit is going VERY slow. I have been playing with the Scirocco too much to
play with the Rabbit. :-( Oh, I have decided to keep it a diesel, believe
it or not! I found an old picture of the car from when I owned it the first
time, and saw how beautiful she was, and then remembered how much I enjoyed
driving that car, and decided to go 95% orriginal! Also, it will cost less
to restore that way. So, all of my modification ideas will just have to go
into the Scirocco! Darn ;-)
