BUT, is also depends on WHERE you want to power gain. Do you spend most of
your time below or above 4000rpm? Also, do you want a smooth or rough idle?
Most of the time, when I talk to people that have compared a few different
cams in their 8v car, they usually say the "G" grind cam is the best. Much
more low and mid range power, also good gain up top, and a smooth idle (The
"G" cam is what in put into the Euro GTi's from the factory)
Just remember though, you will NOT notice a difference at ALL if you install
a cam and/or throttle body on top of a stock exhaust system. Install an
early Rabbit dual outlet manifol, Techtonics dual outlet downpipe and
Techtonics cat back (or equivalant) performance system. Only then will you
notice a power increase after installing a cam or throttlebody.
