Ok, The main consensus on this part seems to be: Don't spend the money on
an aftermarket, larger size throttllebody unless you've made some basic
mods to exhaust and cam, and don't forget to install a wider intake
manifold along with it.

My car-illiterate question is: Why?

I'll guess that its because wider throttle puts more fuel and air into the
system for more powerfule ignition, etc. But that's useless if the exhaust
can't be forced out of the system fast enough. Also, what would the cam
have to do with it?

Please enlighten me, o great Scirocco gurus! (no sarcasm intended!)
