BTW I can't recommend Sony either unless you're in their ES price bracket.
Their decks look and feel cheap; I installed one for my sister (cabriolet,
what else) and the buttons, the way it eats the disc, the display...not
too solid. This may or may not be relevant....

Also, don't fall for the "35 X 4" or "High Power" printed on the
faceplate. The onboard amps on all these decks are pretty lacking, and
you can't really say one is "good" relateive to another. For example, the
only difference between Alpine's 7832 and 7930 is an onboard amp. These
decks are one down from their very top-o-the-line model and the price
difference is 20 bucks. That's what those amps are worth. If you can
swing it, go with a separate amp. If you can't, don't get stressed, the
acoustics in Sciroccos are so bad you aren't really missing much :)

I used to think I'd never use a remote too, but I love having one now!
The one that came with my alpine is about 2" by 1.5" by 1/8", so it's
small eough to fit in the ashtray or a pocket (remotes from Pioneer, Sony,
etc are much bigger). Plus, you can't buy a high-end deck these days
without one....
