If I'm understanding you properly, you shouldn't be able to move the
lever at all by hand.  It would take a decent sized bar to manually
move it.  I'm not real familiar with the exact setup on the Scirocco,
but I've replaced enough clutches to know that much.  BTW, I finally
got my Bentley's service manual today.  Guess I'll sit down and
peruse it a while :)  Ahhhhh......the simple joys in life !!!!
